New Computer!

Brand new Dell Dimension C521 arrived last night! Wasn't sure we would be able to get another Dell; we called and ordered one couple weeks ago but they don't take checks anymore. We didn't want to use debit card because we weren't sure if Localnet was still taking their usual $50-$75 automatic debit. (Localnet charges less than $10 a month, but refused to change date of automatic debit even when we paid ahead. Automatic debit was the first of the month, $800 Social Security check was automatically deposited on the 3rd. Localnet charged insufficient funds fee, bank charged overdraft fee. Internet service is fine but they won't let you cancel service either. ) (Now we have cable service. We thought we were signing up for Road Runner but they shoved Earthlink down our throat. Those Earthlink commercials featuring imaginary creatures make sense to me now- there are obviously no REAL people at Earthlink who know their access from a hole in the ground. And when our old Dell died we found out the Earthlink Webmail sucks even worse.)
I'm going outside to play. Here in upstate NY it's a beautiful, sunny, 60 degree November day.
More later.

11-2-06 update

We jumped off the mountain and landed safely in a swamp.
Usually I get writers block when I have too much to write about, but I don't have time for that crap now.Gonna write something while I can.
Our Dell's hard drive gave up. Dug out old computer from under stairs and plugged it into our cable internet. Windows 95 and Internet Explorer 5 are a little future shocked but coping pretty well. The mouse doesn't have a scrolling thing. The keyboard is missing the "2" and "enter" buttons- just a little plastic thingy that would probably be annoying if I knew how to type.
Gonna see if I can actually post this- will be back if nothing else goes wrong.
