Frustration
This writer's block/ procrastination thing is really starting to piss me off.
Turned 49. One year to pathetic.
Looks like we're gonna be homeless again. Not our fault; landlord was financially challenged and had to sell the place. Does anyone know of an apartment in the Catskill school district that will accept a 7yr old small dog who only barks if someone's at the door, and has outgrown the chewing and "accident" stage? Me, Bill, and Anna, too. Mostly outgrown the accident stage. We don't throw loud parties. We don't get drunk or doped up. We don't do anything.
We just need to stay in school district until Anna graduates. She has a good schedule with the AP courses and early college courses to save money. (Hey, $304.oo for 7 college credits isn't bad. She might have an easier time getting into a college and scheduling her freshman year, too.)
If you know us, you understand why we can't get rid of the dog. If you don't, then trust me- it's depressing.
Catskill fancies itself the new Hudson. Two bedroom apartments run in the $800-1500 range. Our total income in in the $1500 range. We would take a one bedroom but no one will rent one to three people.
There aren't many traditional landlords here either. The "property managers" who show the apartment shake our hands and meet the dog and take reference from our landlord. The owner, or worse, investment partners prefer to wait for the petless NYC sucker who missed out on all those prime Warren Street, Hudson apartments.
Wonder if motels still take dogs...
